Introduction

Université de Montréal was founded in 1878 as a French-language public research university  in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This is the top university in the state of Quebec and ranked third in Canada. The main campus of the university is located on the northern flank of Royal Mountain in the Outremont and Côte-des-Neiges counties. The school consists of thirteen disciplines, more than sixty faculties and two affiliated schools: the Polytechnique Montréal (School of Engineering formerly the École Polytechnique de Montréal) and HEC Montréal (School of Business). It offers more than 650 undergraduate and graduate programs, including 71 doctoral programs.

           # The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019 ranked the school 90th in the world and fifth in Canada.

           # Placed 149th in the world and 6th in Canada by QS World University Ranking 2019.

           # In the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) in 2018, the school is ranked 101-150 in the world.

           # In terms of national rankings, Maclean has ranked 10th for the University of Medical Doctoral in 2019 rankings.

           # This university is also ranked 34th in the world for computer science in the 2019 Times Higher Education rankings.

           # The 2012-2013 Times Higher Education rankings for clinical, pre-clinical, and health universities, the university's health science programs ranked 47th in the world and fourth in Canada.

           # In 2011, The Law of the University of Montréal is ranked second, among the six civil law schools in Canada in the Maclean law school rankings.
