Introduction

Established on March 19, 1907, The University of Saskatchewan (U of S) is a Canadian public research university, and located on the east side of the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The university campus includes 120 hectares (300 acres) set aside for university buildings and 400 ha (1,000 acres) for the U of S farm, and agricultural fields.

The University of Saskatchewan is the largest education institution in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The University of Saskatchewan is one of Canada’s top research universities (based on the number of Canada Research Chairs) and is a member of the U15 Group of Canadian Research Universities (the 15 most research-intensive universities in Canada).

The University of Saskatchewan offers a wide diversity of programs and courses. Agriculture and Bioresources, Arts and Science, Biotechnology, Edwards School of Business, Dentistry, Education, Engineering, Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Kinesiology, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Nutrition, Physical Therapy and Veterinary Medicine. Moreover, the University's affiliated colleges and Centre for Continuing and Distance Education offer degree programs, certificates, and training programs. Many affiliated colleges permit students to complete the first two years of a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree, and some offer full degrees in Education, Native Studies, and Theology.

#The University of Saskatchewan ranked 14th, tied with the University of Manitoba, in 2019 Maclean's annual Canadian Medical/Doctoral university rankings.

#As per QS World University Ranking 2018,[44] the university stands 51-100 in Agriculture & Forestry and 451-460 in overall institutional ranking.
