Introduction

INTRODUCTION

Young people have opinions about the world and its key issues, though their ideas are seldom expressed and shared in a meaningful way. The Global People Debate is a global online events that provides a stimulating space where juniors from around the world can express and nurture their opinions in a friendly debate with other juniors from around the world. Our debates are held in English and are open to anyone from around the world.

Participants should have some basic English conversation skills.

DAY 1:  THE NEED FOR PHYSICAL SCHOOLS

1. How do you manage studying online?

2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of online programs and face-to-face ones?

3. Which one is ultimately better for studying? Why?


DAY 2:  BLACK LIVES MATTER

1. What is Discrimination?

2. How about Asian Lives Matter, etc.?

3. Has BLM been effective?

RULES OF THE DEBATE

BE RESPECTFUL

Respect others and their opinions. Do not attack the person when debating their opinion. Be patient, courteous and friendly in your speech.

BE CONSTRUCTIVE

Understand the logic and viewpoint of the opposing argument, point out where you agree, and then propose your viewpoint and logic.

DO RESEARCH

Do research before the debate so that you have something to contribute and share with everyone. This allows everyone to walk away with more than they came with.
