Introduction

The two-year community college - Santa Monica College is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, was founded in 1929 with only 153 students. Now the college has expanded rapidly with a campus capacity of 34,000 students and offerings more than 100 majors.
 

The 38-acre main campus is just about 4 kilometres from the coast, students can easily access to the beach after their study. Santa Monica College has everything to support students’ needs - computer labs, sports facilities, performance spaces and visual arts and student clubs. The college was awarded for architectural and sustainability facilities. The college's award-winning faculty works closely with students to help students achieve their goals.
 

Santa Monica College reputation for academic excellence along with a prime location in a vibrant metropolitan area has attracted the attention of international students. Santa Monica College has the largest number of international students compared to community colleges in the United States, with approximately 3,300 students from more than 100 countries.
