Most of TTU’s majors require a minimum GPA of 2.5 to join TTU as a New Freshmen. 

 

Students with a 2.0 GPA may enter Tennessee Tech in General Curriculum for the first year of attendance.

 

Some majors like Engineering, Pre-Professional Programs and Nursing require a 3.0 GPA

 

Most transfer students have a minimum 2.0 to enter TTU, with the exception of Engineering, the Pre-Professional Programs and Nursing which require a 3.0 GPA to enter these programs.
 

Students may wish to earn credit by examination because of prior knowledge they have in a content area One way of obtaining credit based on is by taking course examinations in the following programs:

2.SAT Subject
3.International Baccalaureate (IB)

TTU accepts the following comprehensive exams:

SCHOLARSHIP

International Undergraduate

Scholarships are available:

(3 scholarship types)

 

1.Merit scholarship covers  55% of out-of-state tuition, which is approximately $4,300 per semester
2.The Multinational scholarship is $1,000 per semester to promote diversity
3.Legacy scholarship is $500 per semester for students who have had family members attend TTU.

*All scholarships are renewable for up to 4 years.

Residential Life at Tennessee Technological University is a living/learning community that seeks to serve society by developing the leaders of tomorrow and extending opportunities to enhance individual identity

Typically, most international students prefer to live off campus, as apartments are reasonably priced in this area.  A single apartment is typically $300, and a 2 bedroom is normally $500 to $600.  Cookeville has one of the lowest cost of living in the USA.

 

Dorm prices range from $2,580 to  $4,070 per semester for a double room.

If a student lives in the dorm, they are required to purchase a meal plan.

 

TTU has many meal plan options ranging from $544 - $2,477 per semester.
