Introduction

Founded in 1908, the University of British Columbia (UBC) is a global center for teaching, learning and research, consistently ranked among the top 20 public universities in the world and recently recognized as the most international university in North America. With an annual research budget of $ 600 million (one of Canada's largest budgets), UBC sponsors more than 8,000 projects each year.

UBC's learning activities are organized into "departments" and "schools". UBC has twelve faculties at the Vancouver campus and seven at the Okanagan campus. UBC Vancouver has two colleges: Interdisciplinary Studies and Health Disciplines, while UBC Okanagan has a College of Graduate Studies.

As one of the world's leading research universities, the University of British Columbia has created a positive change in and outside the country for more than a century.
